Diamond Decorators

Social Values

Committed to high social values, we actively participate in local community schemes, giving back to the communities we serve.

People

Diamond is a supporter of the Great Manchester Good Employment Charter and ensure all our staff are fairly paid and supports the Real Living Wage.  Diamond has an Equality Policy in place and do employ personnel from a diverse of backgrounds.

We have local direct employees from around Manchester, Salford, Tameside & Cheshire. Diamond have attended various career fairs in Tameside, Oldham and Salford from which we have advertised various roles from Apprenticeships to Painters and Decorators positions.

When Diamond advertises for job vacancies, we look at personal skills so if any applicants have been out of work for more than a year, we do not stigmatise them.  We believe in upskilling our staff to a NVQ Level 2 if they do not hold a qualification and provide various training opportunities.

Our apprentices come on-board on 2-week work placement and if it is a route thy want to take become part of our apprenticeship.  Diamond encourages work placements to ensure that it is the avenue that students want by giving them on site experience.

Diamond employs up to 4 apprentices over an 18-month apprenticeship where they “earn while they learn” by attending college one day a week and developing hand-on skills in the workplace with an assigned mentor.

Over the last 6 months Diamond has volunteered for careers days and careers fairs.  We also get involved with schools/colleges in providing talks on the shortage of skilled labour in the construction industry and the apprentice route.

Diamond has already volunteered with a couple of colleges to do a talks in February for the National Apprentice Week.

Community

Diamond use locally based suppliers, Dulux, Crown, and Johnstones, with stores nationwide we utilise their local branches for our projects. By buying materials from our local supply chain puts money back into the local economy, keeps local people working and the economy strong.

Diamond has a mission in giving back to the community of our projects in getting involved in various community programmes. We also assist by donating surplus paint to charities / care homes or schools and colleges.
